Exploring Military History with the Peterborough Military History Group

A Community Dedicated to Preserving and Celebrating Military Heritage

The Peterborough Military History Group is a community of like-minded people, passionate about military history.

Members interests vary from collectors of military memorabilia, to scale modellers and those who are simply interested in the subject and enjoy reading and learning about it.

We are interested in military history from the earliest times up to the modern day, with particular focus on WWI and WWII. We are always keen to welcome new members.

About Peterborough Military History Group

Discover the Fascinating Stories and Legacies of the Past

We meet at the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery in Priestgate, Peterborough, PE1 1LF, on the second Wednesday of every month, 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We have an annual subscription fee of £8.00 and each month we ask those attending the meeting to drop £2.00 into the subs box. We also hold an annual exhibition at the Museum on one day a year, when members can bring out their collections and show them to the public. Here, we also have the Bargain Stall, where members bring their spare model kits, books and various items from their collections to help in fundraising.

Each meeting includes a guest speaker, (see schedule of this year's speakers below), sometimes one of our own members, sometimes an invited guest speaker. We have a refreshment stall where tea, coffee and cakes can be purchased which goes into the Group funds. Some members also bring books in to sell at minimal prices so you never know what you might come away with. We have members of all ages and are always looking to recruit more. A monthly Newsletter is emailed to all members and contributions to this are also welcomed.
